Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Getting rid of thousands without official layoffs

Untold story is the thousands of department manager jobs eliminated. By giving them temp CSA5 jobs and not interviewing or hiring them for other positions, the 10,000 most experienced people in the stores are being forced to leave. The company's way of firing thousands without it being publicized.

This, @OV3Wgbx-2ooa, this is what makes me see red. It is such a sneaky and underhand way to deal with loyal, experienced, hardworking employees that Lowe's now makes me sick. Wish something could be done about this...

Lowes has been doing this since February...

I'm a CSA5. We can keep our job til the end of January, get no severance. Also happened right when we would be getting a raise. I applied multiple times, got only one interview so far. Another guy was told he wasn't qualified to be a specialist in the department he was running before the restructure.

In my store it was around $22.00, less if you were new.

"I am a CSA 5 and have applied to over 10 positions I am qualified for and have done for years but I can't get an interview. "

I keep reading and hearing this over and over. Think about it strategically. If you are a hard worker, the nice guy Nibs and his cronies want you to be desperate.. allegedly. If he can pay hard workers $5 an hour less, he is way ahead of the game. That's why the best move is to quit. Sure he has an estimated percentage of turnover in his matrix. But make sure that number is the demise. I wish the best for any, all of my former co-workers that may feel trapped at Lowes. Take the risk to step out of your comfort zone. The grass is greener.

By no means tell them you have a wife that works or you have other forms of income. It was so much sweeter watching their heads spin when I quit. It's even better seeing them when you're geared up on Friday night for a concert (needed propane), a Thursday night NFL game needed a steak thermometer, a Saturday morning, needed 2 screws for a door. I heard they bad mouthed me on the way out, said I was bluffing and I'd regret it. Jokes on them. I spend my time at the pool with my laptop selling on amazon.

Nope it is just Lowe's way of scapegoating. They do smoke and mirrors to stock holders making them uninformed how bad state the company is really in.. They wanted us to drink kool aid with LEF and well no one is any more except the people up top. I am a CSA 5 and have applied to over 10 positions I am qualified for and have done for years but I can't get an interview. Good thing is I told them my wife doesn't work but she's going back now. I will not be forced to work for Lowe's full time any more. Strapped to their corporate schedule which will kill you. Closing on Mondays and by Wed you are in at 5AM. It's a total crap way of living.. They make you feel like you have to earn that 1 weekend off a month. Like it's a privilege. Most I know don't try at all. They have given up.. 10+ years and I will be limited to the weekday crew.. I will not allow them to use my tenure and pay me $5 less per hour. Crappy benefits where you have to spend over $1000 deductible before you see any benefits for something more then a doctor check up.
