@jsw what you fail to understand is that Apple signed a licensing agreement and now wants out. You just can't walk away from an agreement without a settlement.

Settle won't happen unless itc ban intel powered iphone. The time of 45 days is ticking and there is no news yet. Very unlikely will decide to ban. so no settle I guess. Time to abandon the ship.
Why would Apple settle? Qualcomm needs Apple more than Apple needs Qualcomm. The Intel modem is working fine and modems are mature enough that nobody cares if they get a theoretical peak rate of 1000 Mbps or 650 Mbps.
