Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Nike used to be a great place to work.

The issue at Nike is bad management. Constant change in direction, shifting sand management style. IT engineers are promoted to leadership without the leadership skills. It is about who you know and not a merit based system.

I saw a manager get promoted to VP in 2 years and he brought his friends up from Engineer to Sr Director when neither of them had any management experience. In that environment, only thing you can do is leave.

Unless you go out with the VP to stripper clubs, you are not going to get ahead. It used to be a great place to work.

How about addressing the use of Millennium Building Services, who has been accused of exploiting immigrant labor through wage theft? Nike needs to use responsible janitorial contractors.

<<<"We're seeing it all over corporate America," Dunn told CNBC on Friday, referring to issues of workplace misconduct in the era of the Me Too and Times Up movements. "In some instances it seems it's almost part of the culture."

It's definitely become a place where you need to s--- up, do what you're told without question, and not share your opinions.....

Find me one corporation that's not like this.

Yep, you are right, there are no places that are different.
