Laid off in 2009, with 13 years service , band S. Nike picked up my COBRA for 18 months. The severance package was substantial. I lived well for 1.5 years, then found a job with another clueless sports apparel firm, just down the road from Nike, for a few years.

Each successive layoff will be less generous...count on it. If you currently work inside the berm, are over 40 YO, with ~ 10 or more years of service, you should certainly have an updated resume, and start working all your contacts. Better still--save every damn last dollar you can. Your end at Nike is nigh. Sorry, that's the breaks. Don't be caught unawares.

21 years of tenure at Nike. One month of insurance in package.

Nope that's all we got. In 2009 I heard recently they got a whole year. Nice for them.

Don't you know your severance if you were laid off? That should have all been explained to you prior to signing anything????
