I'm one of the unfortunate ones and my house is under water in the Houston area. I don't know when I will be able to get back. How would Oracle reach me if the Fedex driver can't? Can they still lay me off?

LE and MH won't care. To them, you are just an idiot that bought the wrong house, obviously you are not worth retaining.
Narcissist's have no empathy for anyone, they just see other people as competition. When other people go through a difficult time, they rejoice. After all, it's not them. It just goes to show how much better they are than you are.
I'm sorry you are in the middle of the disaster. My husband works with a lot of people who live in Houston. His manager was there, lost his car in a flash flood and everyone in the car had to climb out the driver's window. His house was not flooded though, at least not so far.
Yeah, let us k or if they lay you off so we can tell the national media and get these A:holes the publicity they are so desperately trying to avoid. The national media will take a story like this and run with it, it will be epic. Plus I'm sure some companies will step up and offer you a job. Let's get oracle all the press they deserve.
Go find a CNN, MSNBC or FOX news person covering flood and tell them ORACLE laid you off during the flood. See what kinda of press they get. Fvckers.
If anything, they will float over on a 100 million dollar toy sailboat and throw you life preserver filled of lead pellets.
Did the guy live once Oracle took away his healthcare?
Wow, talk about death panels.
They do not care.
Trust on this.
I had a guy with Stage 4 cancer and he was let go last year.
Sorry to hear about your misfortune, unfortunately in oracle mgmt your dealing with A:holes who could care less
My understanding is that even if they can't reach you that the layoff day is the termination date. I have heard of people who were on vacation who were laid off while away.
Now whether or nor Oracle will show some compassion for those affected by hurricane Harvey is another matter. Personally, I doubt they will. Maybe you'll just get a phone call on your cell by someone in HR, who will give you the bad news over the phone.
