Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Oracle is going down, for sure

The way Oracle is trying to force people to the "cloud" is laughable. They are going full retard on licensing and screwing over loyal customers by changing terms and delivering insane bills. They then think that companies will trust them for cloud? LOL!!

Any real company does AWS, Azure, and maybe Google. Oracle is not a player in this space.

So well put, @P0BllKg-2wwy. If they don't deal with this (which I don't think they will), i don't see bright future for this firm. Btw, OP, thank you for making me laugh on stressful day.

I see Oracle DB products in cloud very attractive and the network cost for data is 1/10 th AWS. They are more secure too

"Take it easy.

It's just Sun that's going down.

Check out Oracle's financial performance over last 3, 12 or 24 months. The picture is different."

smoking bad uh?

Sun is no more existing since 2010, remember? there is only ORCL

now : 44.83$

3M : 49.40$ (feb 6th)

12M : 44.29$ (feb 7th, 2017)

so you have a basically flat performance over 1Y (nice investment, really) and a -10% in the last 3M (excellent investment, really really)

suggestion: change your pusher, the crack you are smoking is not so good.

The Oracle cloud is a joke. Has anyone tried to use it? Are there customers actually using it? I hear the AT&T deal that Oracle touted as a win was really just taking AT&T's maintenance revenues and shifting that to cloud licenses and opex. There really wasn't any new revenue out of it other than they can say that cloud is growing while on-prem is shrinking. How much longer until they can't financially engineer their way out of this?
