Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Has anyone had Employment Separation Agreement and Released reviewed by Attorney?

I was involuntary RIFed, Reviewing the document, it seems generally reasonable but I don't like the section about no solicitation of Honeywell Employees, Suppliers, Customers or Vendors. I am looking for a new job, maybe start my own business and cannot contact pretty much my entire network? Does not seem fair.

I got RIF'd back in November and received almost a year's worth of salary continuance. I found the agreement to be pretty standard and reasonable. Like other's have said, keep your head down a bit until your salary continuance is done, but don't worry too much. They're not tracking you and could care less, unless you're careless.

The courts usually side with the employee and their right to work...the worst they can do is end your severence.

They will never take the time to track your activity. Now don't go out a make/design products like Honeyhell but other than that, no worries. Move on

That is one good thing about leaving on your own terms. No signing separation agreements so you can do or say what you want. Severance pay is not worth the strings attached.

Two reasons not to "let it go and move to a new industry" 1. You are hired at expert level and pay vs. newbie. 2. You wake up every day buoyed by the fact that every working hour is dedicated to destroying the evil empire.

I was a band 4 manager that had signed that same agreement & left 4 months ago voluntarily & went to work for a supplier and they didn't do anything.

Why not move on to a new industry and away from Hon? Live and let live.

Standard language which is not generally enforceable in a right to work state. I know that they have sent letters in the past to the new employer of a former Hon employee who was involuntarily terminated in a RIF. Other than the demand letter, no other official action.
