This is singlehandedly the worst handled layoff all of us have ever seen. Its 4pm PST and there still is 0 notification on when people are supposed to show up their final day, 0 information about who's doing it, 0 information on how it will be handled communicated to the employees.

It is not fake news. Layoff all over ME, Sparc HW systems, Software, Mechanical in SCA and San Diego. People are already gone this morning. Some will be tomorrow 9/1/17 due to HR does not have enough time to process paper works with government agencies.
Why does Oracle even bother calling? Might as well just send a mass automated email and lay off the guy making the calls.

I thought this was confined to HW. Silly me. I dont know why I'm still here as we are not going to be able to function without those who we lost.

You will receive an email around 7am with a number to call. The call will be 5 minute instructions on the layoff. Drop your badge and laptop with your boss on the way out.
Maybe there's no notification because the layoff is fake news?.
