Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

File complaints with the EEOC

I would suggest as many affected people as possible file complaints with the EEOC. Google is facing a class action lawsuit in a California federal court for age discrimination right now.

Nike has always done this, especially in the NL. Every time it would reorganize there, the over 40's were always disproportionately targeted with layoffs because they cost too much money. I think one person managed to retire from Nike EMEA in 20 years. The EEOC can investigate and bring a court case on your behalf.

There is already a lawsuit from women over 40. I believe the tech folks started it. Join that lawsuit.

Please know that each person who thinks they are the victim of age discrimination needs to file an individual claim with the EEOC. That protects your rights to due later on if you decide to.

This is getting real now... I pretty sure Ageism combined with import workers is going to be a real issue for Nike this year.

I don't work for NIKE but know many that do - I agree that those over 40 who have great reviews should be available to get another job with the company - that just makes the company more successful if you look at your talent and experience and keep those who have got you where you have - come on Uncle Phil !!! Feeling bad for those affected - be strong and band together and file a complaint - I think you would win in court!!!!
