Just saw on CNBC that experts are saying that Amazon and Walmart are looking into possible acquisitions of some major retailers, with Lowe's being high up on the list.
Makes sense, especially with Lowe's move into internet fulmilment.

Anything to get rid of Niblock and his cronies. Would be interesting for sure. We are prime for a takeover with everything in chaos.

The recent moves by Lowe's do make sense in preparing the company for a purchase. When I was with Price/Waterhouse I was one of those let go in an effort to make leaner their staffing before it was sold.

I heard the same thing. A former Lowes managemenrt came into the store and heard the same rumor.
