Thread regarding L3 Technologies layoffs

Voluntary layoffs at L3

The voluntary layoff was a great thing if you had a chance to apply.

I know of a couple of design managers, including me, that got walked out the week of, with no severance because of "new issues" found on a different aircraft than the one we were "responsible" for when we got sent home a week with no pay.

Really, IAM cannot help, they are union, L-3 Waco is NOT! Besides look what unions have done to other companies.

The management is a disgrace. They laid off some of the management and then rehired them when the coast was clear. It is the GOB out there, all I can say is stay clear. L3 walked one VP out the door (which he should have been fired in the first place) and replace them with one who they thought could fix their screw ups. That VP walked out after a year and couldn't get out fast enough. Corporate L-3 you are to blame for leaving the current management in place. I had over 20 years with Waco and it was nothing but cut throat, and undermined the greater good. Greenville sent down all their rejects and kept them due to the fact they had "pictures". Other aerospace companies want to stay away from Waco due to the fact of the management there. BTW, yes the ethics officer at Waco if useless and turns the table on anyone that even has a problem. There was a case where the HR director was openly talking about a case to people in the hallway and everyone heard! Corruption is the management.

Same thing happened to me I was let go after a year. Poor executive staff, unprofessional, blaming others and taking no responsibility.

These issues we're already going on prior to my start but someone has to take the blame!

Just a little FYI, even calling in to the ethics hotline, results in your call and issue, turned back to the Waco HE dept! I know, mine did just 2 years ago. They protect their own brotherhood!!!!

Doesn't matter if your in a right to work state. Called ethics sites instances of failure by leadership to take action, but didn't matter. I was termed with less than 90 days in a new position for issues that were happening well prior to me taking the helm. I actually had turned some of the issues around. However in the end ethics did nothing but say you are in a right to work state so we can term without a reason.

If you think you are a victim of wrongful termination, then submit a protest and request an independent review. L3 does have an arbitration process that only you can request. Call the L3 Ethics Hotline if you feel that your termination was retaliatory in nature, was based on your age, or if you acted improperly in fear of disciplinary action. If these steps do not resolve your situation, please know that there are multiple lawyers in Waco that are well aware of the financial challenges that L3 faces and the inappropriate steps they have been taking to reduce costs.
