I got my FEDEX notification, so I know I'm out .
Most people I know also got the notification but some didn't (but very small percentage).
Anyone knows the percentage of this layoff ? any survivors ? if there are some people who got spared, what the hell they are going to be doing with no projects or road map ? wait at their desk for an M8 bug to come from the field with the assumption that customers will buy M8 to start with?

When the dotcom blowout happened, SCA was still under construction. Sun stopped work on the campus, leaving the already-completed pad for building 10 empty.
A couple of years ago, Oracle finally added that building and one more. I always thought it was weird timing for them to spend money there like that.
Im in SPARC hardware and Im still here so it doesn’t appear wide spread at all unless the deliveries are late.
So did anyone get the Fedex delivery or is this just another hoax??
I know that those of you who worked at Sun really liked the SCA campus, and hacong visited I like it too, BUT remember, it started out as a mental health asylum, so in that way, this insanity that LE, MH, and SC are inflicting here, is somewhat a fitting ending.
Oracle cloud use it to put their new college hire robo calling team in. They are running out of room for those resources and they need more room.
It will be very sad if SCA location is sold to some other company (Say Google or somebody like Google). So long, I have felt so proud to host friends from other companies and show them what beautiful campus we have here- that would make them jealous.
What will Oracle do with the SCA location?
My theory is that Oracle sparing 49 people or less in SCA campus so that when they lay them off next month wont have to trigger WARN on them....dirty and mean but knowing Oracle..I wont be surprised if thats the case.
