Biggest Screwups in last 5 years

Trying to compile a list of bad business decisions in the last 5 yr that went unpunished

  1. NALC Memphis $300 million - DC built but never really fully operational. It was built to serve category offense, yes?

What else?

1: MP's declaration for 10B, 15B, 20B, 10000000B wrecked the culture by focusing the work on revenue and ultimately on the share price instead of the athlete and employee

2: Growing the F'n crazy w/o reasonable growth plan.

3: Buildings, Buildings, Buildings. Need I say more!

4: Dumping the MAXIMs

5: Sacrificing good employees for stock price

6: Fixing Labor Costs through the use of H1-B

7: Using Politics as a weapon and a distraction for bad business practices

8: Ageism + S-xism

9: Poor innovation

10: Paying new employees, lower than cost of living for the rest.

11: Squashing of good ideas unless they come from VP or C Level

I could go on and on and on and on and on...

Thank you. Totally anonymous is ok too. Just want the truth.

Other Mistakes- Selling ugly a-- Lebrons for 200+, using a canned presentation to try and land Steph Curry, not paying Kanye (sorry, Adi is killing with him), saying we are going to hit 50B in 2020 with no plan at all. We certainty are not going to make it to 50b selling Retro Jordan's. Tinker needs to stop sitting around and prove he can do more than 3,4,11,(12?),13. We need 33-40 from him.

The good- the vapormax might be a billion dollar shoe.

The distribution centers in Memphis what a joke. Very poor leader ship from VPs S bands and E bands. No vision just rudderless over built facility. The cost is to high and still not being used very well. Many orders shorted which leaves money on the table that Nike could use. Mangers hide or only get things done from a power position. HR or Employee relations not supportive. No summer hours at facility or child care so don't fall for the bait. Nike supply chain is broken but every year they say it's an advantage not true. Many good people long term and newer employees are leaving and just a morale buster. Why are all the support positions are in Oregon for the distribution centers are in Memphis?

How about the funding of NXT (Innovation Lab)? Grossly over budgeted and not a single, viable thing in the pipeline. They restructured a year ago and played off some folks and were supposedly gearing up for a new way of working. Hasn't happened and that means no remarkable innovation coming from that team for the next few years.

Raising the prices on everything and flooding the market with the few styles that were hot, killing them in the process.
