Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

No, we can't all just leave Allstate

I'm curious about the people just saying "leave". Do you live in a wonderful world of no bills and money trees? Its not something you can just leave and hope it works out. You guys must be management hoping to save a severance payout.

I was going through posts here, and this is what stuck out with me as well. Leave where? I can't leave without lining up another job, and in this economy, that is not as easy as some people would like to present it as. Saying leave is utterly unhelpful, and while I'm not saying this is what's happening, it does sound like something somebody who'd like to encourage people to leave without having to pay them would say.

How bout appreciate for WORKERS instead of go find another job. I'm sure if I was manager I'd want all my staff to be happy and productive so your job is easy but that's not what mgt is about is it? People can't up and leave in this economy and if your production figures are good that's all that matters the company has made that very apparent. Again why are managers on this board are you that out of loop on layoffs AND employee morale? Amazing.

Workers heads are where you want them busting a-- to work. You job is to inspire if you have great figures and you're to lazy to for G sake try to be TRANSPARENT (your mgt value) then get your head straight and leave because you are one lousy manager. Honest. Do you not want to have to work motivating staff? That's YOUR JOB I can't believe I am first line employee explaining this to management. No wonder esursnce and encompass tanking, and Allstate morale at all time low. I wish Allstate would have a mid management enema and fresh start.

What is right attitude? Lately seems to be shut up do work and do not challenge assumptions. If I was a manager I'd love that to in my employees. The posters here who claim to be managers sure post self serving posts.

Still no answer why Allstate managers are on here? You will get are feedback shortly in 180 review. You say employees = bitter if disagree but I've never seen such a s--- fest of fake positivity as a roll out of a new HO procedure du jour that justifies some flunkies job. Grow up Allstate managers and realize your staff work hard and all we get is continual grief from CI BS.

These replies from CSL FPL whatever your title du jour really illustrate WHY a forum like this exists. You yes people do nothing but harass workers and read excel sheets. Learn how a real company works : the Allstate military model is so outmoded I will not be surprised when u idiots get canned. Your sensitivity to employee views : is that part of CI? You are a joke

If you still work for Allstate you should feel bitter about your lot in life!

I'm a manager, and I must have missed the rules. Half these posters are retired (allegedly) or ex-employees that weren't laid off, and the rest seem to be employees that weren't laid off, and are just bitter about their lot in life.

Why are you even reading this board if you are a manager? Isn't the transparent communication channel between you and your staff at work sufficient out of curiosity? Or are people to afraid to speak their minds under your mgt, or do you not encourage their input? Food for thought.

To CSL FPL or whatever other ridiculous title du jour u currently have at Allstate Post ID: @P6a6GJl-pvq:

I would respect my FPLs if there were all not across the board yes-people who think every idea rolled out of home office by people that ask for no input from the front line (again for G sake we are not in war or should I say for Sake of Xenu given Allstates past love affair with Scientology mgt technique- a perfect illustration)

The company claims to be transparent AS A CORE VALUE wow that new office that just feel from the sky in NC? Had there been any annoucement.

We work because we HAVE to and my employment contract does not include an unwritten rule that I have to approve of everything the company does - just do it well.

Mgt is the prob at allstate haven't u figured that out? I know from my peer group we put in extra time exceed measures and do all other fluff to make you FPLs look good to your managers.

I think the posters saying "leave", are speaking for our customers and fellow employees. Their concern isn't your options. Continuing to work at a place that you feel this way about is bad for the customer and people you work with that care.

So, what the poster above is saying, is he/she will leave as soon as the get the chance, and the only reason they're here, is no one else will have them ???? I'm also a front line leader, and I hope I don't have employees like that in my unit !

I am in management, a front line leader, and I'm not encouraging anyone to leave, and don't have anything to do with decisions about paying people to leave. Above my pay grade. I do agree with the posters that say you should either have the right attitude about the place you work, or find something else. If you can't, that should tell you something, (there's lots of opportunity out there) and you should get your head straight, and have an appreciation for the job.
