Q is a master at avoiding WARN notice; they will use PIP or voluntary packages to avoid WARN; they just don't want public official layoffs news. They have used this process for decades.

Until you know...you don't so it is a rumor. My wise friend of the work say plan for worst and hope for best. Is very wise truth. Always the important to do best work even not knowing outcome is layedoff. Closed door is always open window somewhere.

PIP's and voluntary (as in take the package or get less when we lay you of if you don't) don't add to Warn, and the actual layoff dates are a month or more away, and staggered on paper anyway.

Qualcomm is a master at avoiding Warn.

For me the elephant in the room is the fact the auto industry has had several record years LEASING new cars. I think (but might be wrong) there will be a downturn in the auto industry as excess inventory of new and HUGE inventory of low mileage lease returns get used up. For NXP this will mean lower volume of 'chipsets' (for lack of a better more ubiquitous term) needed for new auto production....I might be wrong or I might be right...I would hope the M&A team has taken this obvious factor into consideration.....but you never know.

Many Wall Street Analysts specializing in Semiconductors say NXP is headed for a huge tumble. HR should read the Wall Street Journal!

No warn notice so what that doesn't mean lay offs aren't happening. Wait until mid September then bark. When NXP deal falls out it will get much worse. I pray for Qualcomm employees that built the company not the lazy Exec's who could care less about who gets let go. They hide everything and lie straight to everyone's face. Open door policy is a joke here. QC avoided WARN notices when they outsourced Janitorial, Shipping Receiving, and part of admin by giving better packages to those who volunteered to take them. Volunteers who took package don't apply to WARN rules.
