To the OP- all the employees in SCS knew, it was posted here and on the cities website and even Seritage website over a month ago. Closing not officially announced. Could be next week or could be after first of year. New store manager moved here from Indiana two months ago- pricks.
Im the OP, Ok the rumors are true for michigan kmart, i hard St.clair shores kmart was going into liquidation, but didn't want to say a name, but someone below has thrown out the actual name, i didnt want to cause panic for the people working at the store. It will likely be announced very soon if not already to the employees,
For you guys being jerks about rumors, you were A- holes, this post was to find out if anyone else heard anything from other areas ,for the rest of us working at a sears or kmart, without actually throwing out names of stores in case they are not announced right away.
Did somebody say there was a rumor of possible rumors? You jokers make me laugh.
I heard there were possible rumors in all the 50 states and some U.S. territories as well. Only rumors so far, which means unsubstantiated. But that doesn't mean they won't happen. But it doesn't mean it will either. So far it is speculation, conjecture if you will. There is a probability it can happen, but also that it won't. Certainly no certainty either way, hence only a rumor. But rumors can become factual, though some never will. You just never know for sure, which begets the rumor.
Kmart in St. Clair Shores MI has a no more layaway sign and the orientation for new employees was canceled due to a “family emergency”.
Closing was expected next year as Kroger has leased it from Seritage

@onq could you please share with us which state for the closing rumors. If the state is mine I know I'm probably on the closure list.
Several store closings in our area , kmarts and possible Sears stores ... all rumors at this time
