Wait, what? I've been told by highly reliable engineering sources that only engineers know how to do every job in the company.
FMA was a good idea, decent architecture, poor implementation and horrible UX. This is yet another classic example of what happens when you let the engineers rather than designers run the UX.
Yeah, they never really built out the fma error structure with the URLs to the explanations. The ones that were linked were not helpful.
FMA and its parallel boot is/was a better method than init scripts. The commands are a pain in the rear. svc this and svc that.

Dtrace and ZFS are great but FMA is plain annoying for the customers. Too many HW warnings scared customers away.
