Verizon media chief Walden to step down at year-end

Verizon (NYSE:VZ) media chief Marni Walden is said to be stepping down at the end of the year, Bloomberg reports.

As executive VP for Media and Telematics (one of three areas of focus defined during a spring reset), Walden was front and center during the company's $4.8B acquisition of Yahoo, arguing that the deal still "made sense" despite Yahoo's massive security breach.

That breach was revealed yesterday to have exposed all 3 billion of Yahoo's user accounts.

I agree with the ones that asks why did it take this long. She has been part of the bad decision making that has been at Verizon for years. So many people have lost their jobs while she kept hers and her huge salary. Its sad to see all the naive V teamers doing the V-check with the arms and believing all the corporate lies just to hope they will be the next one promoted. The writing is all over the wall and just as a previous person wrote, this company is complete trash. I'm glad she's gone but hate for ones who ignore the signs and one day find out their job is gone.

Speaking of Media and Telematics, in what Century will this line of business throw off any cash flow? Seems like any cash is barely paying for Strattonoff to manage it.
