The goal of breaking even by 2020 now is a pipedream. Even Aicha herself said Apple alone cannot sustain the division. Huge infighting and politics over 5G whilst the 4G product line goes up in flames. Rumors the BOD are reviewing whether to continue. Even the guys in Qualcomm questioning the value of this business going forward @PwDmaWx-3mgd. With AMD attacking every cpu socket can a massive loss making division of 8000 people survive Bob's drive to 30?

Not a chance in hell. All 8000 of them will be gone before 2020 rolls around.
When Intel bought infineon the idea was to enter and dominate the phone market. One they were kicked out of that it was the wearables/iot market. Now they are kicked out of that it is cars. Each market they are going after is getting smaller.
When youare the 6th player in a market you are out!
