Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Oracle cloud is way behind and only job cut can keep the earning

"Oracle cloud can’t even muster a Top 10 place in Gartner’s list of leading IaaS providers. For IaaS, Gartner pegs AWS cloud revenues at more than 80X times Oracle’s. Even in the PaaS market, where Oracle has seen more growth—bumping up from 1.1 percent market share to 2 percent in 2016—it’s still just a tenth the size of AWS."

Now you know why O keeps doing layoffs.

Oracle has a rich history of buying companies for their superior technology/offerings, then killing it outright because of some petty reason or slowly mangling it until it dies on its own. I don't see that changing anytime soon.

If mH says something you know that the opposite is true. The guy just spewed out self serving bs with no concern for the truth. Very Presidential, if you get the drift

Mark Hurd has to be the Ellison hack of a life time, dude gets kicked from HP for using corporate expense to pay for consulting he was doing. Anyone else would of been fired and shamed, not Hurd. Ellison does not respect women, nor does Hurd. Funny all the women at Oracle going ape sh-- over both, praising how smart both rapist are. lol

I wish that was true, it's pure failure.

Oracle bought Sun and then killed the Sun cloud because LE didn't have any vision or didn't understand it. LE was an idiot and JF was incapable to convince him otherwise.

Its not like that is a one off mistake either, look at the FS1 and ZFSSA. The ZFSSA is a pretty nice piece of kit, its not perfect but its heaps better than the FS1. Customers could see that and nobody bought the FS1, why this wasn't clear to the stooges is baffling. Because nobody was able to convince the three stooges the ZFSSA was killed and the FS1 was forced upon its internal cloud.

Good article. I guess that's something you won't see some of the "journalists" (bloggers, "thought leaders") write who got their travel and expenses for OOW paid by Oracle. Granted, the author works for a competitor in the SaaS space, but that isn't the area he is focused on. The emperor has no clothes.

I have been interviewing with many companies since getting laid off. Most companies do not even know Oracle is a serious player in the IAAS or PAAS space. Immediately, they mention Amazon, Google and Microsoft. It's very true.

SaaS is where the real growth is. As long as we can keep engineering on-perm deals to include SaaS credits, Wall Street will be happy.
