No vision at Weatherford

To have an R&D program you need a vision and a plan!

There is no vision, beyond survival at this point. There is no plan, beyond every man for himself.

This is the fundamental problem with WFT. They have never had a vision beyond acquiring companies with tech. This was not an issue and would have served them well, except they forgot about the plan to pull things together and keep moving forward.

WFT is like that person who has to have the latest iPhone, they love the tech and just run up their credit card bills buying all the cool stuff with no plan to do anything with it other than the basic stuff and, oh ya - they don't pay their bills.

Weatherford acquires companies and destroys them.

It has evolved into every man for himself. This is a result of poor planning and essentially no money to run a program at this point.

To put someone into a role he knows nothing about is standard for oil service business. He then promotes his buddies into roles they know nothing about and then you have what we see today. Complete shambles and loss of revenue.

Think the big damage done to R&D in recent past was to split it into GPL and install a VP Engineering & R&D who knew nothing of R&D.

Why would anyone choose to work at a place that is “every man for himself”? Or do you not have a choice?

Hey why don't you blow your own trumpet and after that get back to work. This isn't a vacation resort.

It takes years to develop new tools. You can't change the plan half way through and expect something good to happen. Further, you can't expect one tool to "do it all" and be efficient. It doesn't work that way. Weatherford acquired some really great tech and the R&D staff to go with it.
