Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Consolidation to 13 centers

I have heard through some of my resources that the plan is to further consolidate centers, down to 13 Nationally. Also heard some chatter from higher ups about 3rd round of center/field Ops consolidation.

Bumping this to a thread to see if anybody knows more about this? Any info would be appreciated.

Field OPS streamlined. That was my laugh line in this one. The field can't avoid creeping operational bloat, that's why cuts will come. Too many remain too comfortable.

The company could easily hire 3rd party to check merch, open/close stores and remodel stores. It would cost them half of what they pay the Sr analysts now and they wouldn’t have to pay health benefits, 401K match, tuition reimbursement and so on and so on.

Find it so difficult to think FIELD OPS would be hit considering they are so streamlined to begin with unless that is not the case across the country. What do you consider "field ops"

I started hearing that after they closed Rancho and have also heard the field ops rumor. I wouldn't be surprised by either and definitely think field ops and center ops will get hit again.
