Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Pulse from Other Regions

I don’t know people in other regions but wondering what the rumors/thoughts/feelings are out there. Is change coming? Are people leaving their jobs or not applying for jobs? Don’t need to sarcastic response just looking for some good TM to TM dialogue.

Of course there's a clash- Amazon looks for results- not excuses- they need more than a retreat!!

Thoughts on the article about Mackey saying there’s a culture clash going on with Amazon

He sent an email to TMS announcing his resignation and the 10/20 would be his last day.

What is the source of the Tracey resignation? Internal email? News source? Word of mouth? I am unable to find anything online.

Tracey leaving is either a really bad timed coincidence or another one of those elusive signs. Personally I’m feeling an weird hush and can’t place my finger on it. Change is coming and high pay grades can’t talk about it (which is understandable) or change is coming and they truly know nothing about it. Either way it’s unsettling to say the least, as I’ve enjoyed my time with WFM but also not sure which way to go at the moment

I have exclusive knowledge of Martin Tracey's departure. A reliable source, living inside Tracey's head, tells me he's resigning because he cannot stand by while Amazon continues their practice of rendering team members unconscious to surgically place drone chips in their brains. He was initially ok with it when he was told it would enhance their ability to move up, but he's since learned the chips only inhibit them from calling out when sick, or making frivolous schedule requests. Sadly, he's signed an ironclad non-disclosure agreement, so he can't warn anyone. Thankfully my source, living inside his head, has not signed this document, and is so far unknown to the company.

I think you are missing the point.

It would being helpful to know WHY, he chose to quit. What info does he know that prompted him to leave so abruptly?

Martin Tracey barely lasted a year. How bad could this loss be? He was with Starbucks before that for barely over 2yrs.

Get over yourself, Martin.

The global head of TMS, Martin Tracey has voluntarily resigned as of yesterday. This is a HUGE loss for WFM.

I'm in Austin...store level long tenured. No feelings of layoffs here. I am learning and accepting new responsibilities all of the time so maybe I am too busy to notice.
