Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Anyone work at a club that has the cash recycler already?

I'm an accounting lead and I'm very curious as to how it's working out. The way I understand it, the COS's and managers will have a lot more responsibility when it comes to the cash handling. I have to laugh at that. Our cashiers are freaking out wondering who will be fixing all the mistakes when I'm gone. I don't see how they're going to find two trust worthy people that want to split 28 hours a week.

I am an accounting associate and we got our cash recycler this last thursday. It has been a major headache and source of stress for us, but that's because the day after we got it, Friday, til Monday morning, no finalizations happened, so we were stuck with literally 30 minutes of training and 3 accounting days of work to do. This combination of a call off and not just insufficient but wholly lacking training meant that my Lead and I spent 11 hours on Monday just trying to figure out how to do a deposit and what to put in it. We left disgusted and unsuccessful. On Tuesday we joined a conference call of several clubs having similar complaints, and finally started to make progress, but just yesterday we caught up with the correct business day. It is seriously a pain in the a--.

PH9vIAq-1bbw. don’t think just take it and go. if your good with 12 hrs then stay but look at it as only 12 you will not get the 16 each week. if there’s only one associate then yes prob 16 but that’s only till they find another s---er for you to train and take the hrs. it seems the pt assoc in most cases is staying. makes sense but in the mean time will be looking for something else. it doesn’t sound like it’s essential to final and make a deposit daily as it is now. so what if a few days go by before the acct person is scheduled. only my opinion but run and don’t use pto and work a full 40 hr week til dec1.

No machine yet. Just blueprints. I find it funny how I can barely get a lunch without someone needing me for something. I'm the main source for phones, member questions, employee questions, etc. My team knows more than most everyone there. They are running off brains and keeping mush they can control. I have already found a new job. Can't wait. Sounds like a breath of fresh air. Waiting to watch it burn lol.

they call the hours in acct part time but it’s not even that, 12 hrs one week 16 the next or whatever even for someone that’s been there and making a good hourly wage it’s not worth your time. we don’t even know for sure what the schedule will be. heard that we should be there to meet the armored pick up guy but they come different times each day. generally in the afternoon. so there’s one stupid thing that won’t work. 6 8 months down the road maybe it works maybe not. it’s probably about as reliable as the old crapped out ATMs they put in there. clubs eventually just unplugged and put out of order sign indefinitely. another piece of equipment that will work about half the time so clubs will be reduced to only taking cards. happened at walmart’s. no cash as long as the robot didn’t work. haha. just another sam’s mistake along with many.

I know they were running the data cables for it the other day for my club but we don't have it just yet. Don't know a whole lot about it but I was told it will be the MSS' responsibility to getting the cash for cashiers.

I’m also upset at this. No one will understand how much we really do behind the scenes until we’re gone. Do they really think that part time associates who have no care in the world about how this business operates will really put 100% effort into this job?? I think they should have kept at least one full time position. Sure, take away the lead title, but I would still be happy with them keeping me full time. I have a family to support and can’t live off part time wages. To be with a company for 14 years and finally have a position that I really am passionate about, this seems like a slap in the face.

Ours is due in very soon. I'm leaving December 1st and don't care how it works out or the future losses any more than the company does! A machine will never replace all of the thousands of dollars I have researched found fixed and followed up on. Obviously the company don't care about losses only payroll Being dispensable is much different than being replaceable!

exactly! and sadly I won’t be there to see the mayhem and laugh. no one will have the knowledge or time to really dig out the issues. sorry but the part timers just don’t know. they will let it go and Sam’s won’t care because they see it as money saved. the lost checks, credit payment screw ups, trans cash out and rering. no dam machine will correct that. their loss in the long run, my loss temporarily
