Layoffs should be about deadweight. The problem with GE layoffs is that it’s about who is the manager’s or technical leaders best buddy. Buddies are protected and classified as essential while other dedicated productive workers get the ax. So, it’s best to go to everybody’s private parties and practice your brown nose tactics in order to survive. Better yet, get out of GE as soon as you can. It’s not worth it. Layoffs will always be coming even if you survive this one.
I can't agree with you more, @PFwFtWm-qwz. The issues with GE is not only the never-ending layoffs, it's the fact that after each one we are left with fewer and fewer good people. It's a recipe for disaster.
