Thread regarding Sears layoffs

This is what Sears needed to do

I 100% agree this company could have been great, if Eddie truly wanted this company to grow.

1 - He could have put money into sears by updating the buildings, which are run down buildings, out dated by years, plain ugly and will not bring in customers.

2 could have put money into the on-line system YEARS ago.

3 had buyers getting up to date product not this same ole stuff our grandparents bought. including looking into product that is in demand any brand names ( under armor ect...) not this crap we sell now.

4 advertising more main stream .... not remove it and start SYW, which by the way we can't ask people to use their points ( or we get yelled at ) because sears wants the customer to lose them, not use a WOW experience (what a joke-were not stupid) !

5 Get rid of the over populated top players years ago - we had VP's of VP's which had VP's of things that really no one knew what they were there for except to collect a paycheck

WE all know this list can go on - so don't tell me he wanted to make sears great - he just wanted to cash in on the property sears buildings set on. To prove that look at the last buildings that were closed --- humm -- all owned by Eddies hedge fund .

Posted by @PDEnocU-1kis, very much true. There were so many things that could have been done to ensure Sears had a better future, Eddie did none of them.

My guess is that Eddie had a "real estate" grab in mind very early into his tenure? He clearly has not wanted to invest money into infrastructure. Which both Sears/K-mart needed. He has major conflicts of interests regarding his "grab." I only hope when the smoke clears post BK, that a good class action law firm will challenge the legitimacy of his superior real estate liens. And "yes" even with BK, the BOD has liability "tail coverage" that most likely can be tapped.
