Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Honestly

Anyone reading this website is probably in one of the positions that are going to be gone. How everyone deals with it is different but to the long time associates it's a rough pi;; to swallow. We have all seen many changes to the company over the years but not to this magnitude. I personally understand the company is trying to get into the new age and anyone that knows the basis of the company knows payroll has always been the biggest expense. All we can really do is be supportive to each other and wait for our turn. How the company is going about it is what I have a problem with. If they would just tell us the time line for when the positions would be gone I would feel much better and still willing to give a 100% till I'm done. I'm still getting paid to do a job. Let's just be supportive and share any valid information to help each other. Bottom line is that I just want to know so I can make some educated decisions about my future and the impact on my family.

Supposedly it will be after the first of the year. They will get through the holidays first. Some clubs are test clubs doing the early/late 4-12s. Once these test clubs are complete and the kinks worked out then you'll see the cuts. At least you'll be able to get Sams share whereas accounting gets laid off just before it and just before Christmas. As for me in accounting. I still go to work do my job and go home. But admittedly I don't have the dedication and spirit I once did. But I'm not slacking just not "happy to help".

Heard that receiving lead will be restructured taking on invoicing, receiving trucks and helping out in claims when associate is on vacation.

Schedule and club open time change was mentioned, but no time timetable. If you go by the quarter timeline, the one best way starts at the end of October

If night crew don't change then will there be a full time day receiver? What's up with them thinking someone only wants to work 20 hours a week. It isn't worth your gas.

PHdCbvj-ibi. if the night crew changes their schedule the night mgr will come to days and be in recv with claims at least for now. wouldn’t be surprised to see claims go eventually. recv would have mgr and 20 hrs a week in recv for pt assoc.

Did Your manager told you in January receiving lead will be told? Did he say who would run receiving day? All we have is lead and clerk. I would think someone would have to be in receiving.

I agree. They should be more upfront about other positions being eliminated in the near future instead of keeping associates waiting. I am leaving December 1st and taking the severance pay. I suggest doing the same and looking elsewhere for a new job now. Those that remain will have so much more workload and have to do even more than they already are
