  1. Most PSS. Move the useful bits to the BU - they'd soon simplify their SKU's and pricing if they had to deal with the mess they create. Most CSE's could do PSS's job.

  2. Most Product Managers above Director level. Product management should be quite flat to force Product Managers to work together.

  3. Finance. Their B.S. accounting rules slow down all parts of the business, from sales, through engineering, to tech support and IT. FMV transfers, rev. rec. rules, limits on when a product can be made subscription, etc.

CAP managers clean up the mess left behind by internal B.S.

So how can you say a CAP manager isc the worst role?

With the sh**ty code Cisco creates and releases that has "gone through a robust QA process" I would expect the CAP manager has the most stable job of all of the employees at Cisco. He or she can always count on a dissatisfied customer complaining to Chuck.

Re: @PHlGAV3-1tfv

Nothing, but it doesn't matter. Cisco board members wanted a c-suite of people who would not rock the boat and maintain share price. They wanted typical managers and administrators, not real leaders or innovators, people who work at companies, not people who start them. Honestly, if you just randomly selected a G11+ employee at Cisco they would likely have a more impressive background

BDM is kiss of death in Cisco.

My vote would be "Chief of Staff to the CEO"
