Expect a 15% RIF in Space for early 2018
What a shame. No one was in a better position than Honeywell to lead in the Connected Home and now new leadership is admitting that they are throwing in the towel. It's such a shame that years of mismanagement and underinvestment has led now to this!
The whole security line (including Vista, Lynx, Lyric etc...) moves to the new company. My understanding from yesterday's calls is that the fire business will stay in Honeywell and probably be part of a business that includes HBS. Kind of funny that there has been talk of selling HBS for awhile now and it ends up being security and distribution that gets spun off. I guess if we had been successful in our connected home strategy, we would still be part of the "power of connected". The security products business has not been performing and margins are too low in distribution to get Honeywell excited, so now we will have to sink or swim on our own.

Look at Honeywell shareholder 10/10/17 presentation, slide #3, #4, (Reduced Size Allows For Rapid Organic Growth At Honeywell And Spins) “Synergy” “Optimized” RIF’s #5 (Portfolio Review Process) and #18 Foreign Investments (plant and people).. Also ever slide that mentions synergy or synergization synergistic is code for more layoffs. Synergy is the Wall Street code for reduction in force. Anti-MAGA statements on page #18, ($10-Billion foreign investments $5-Billion US repurchase of debt. Very un-American Company. Drain the swamp before your job goes overseas.

It means more lay offs are coming to all businesses. Be Prepared!
The communications on this has been just horrible It leaves so many false impressions and raises so many more questions. Many news sources has been reporting that the fire business will be part of Homes. I don't think that is accurate. What about the Vista security systems? Where do they go?
