Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Clearwater / Overtime

Some managers in Clearwater are directing staff that if they can't work OT then they need to put an additional 4 hours of vacation time on their time sheet each week.

That way their time sheet shows 44 hrs of work every week and EEI metrics look good.

I think it would take a qualified expert in government cost accounting quizzing Honeywell to determine the legality of the specific practice posted by uyo affected overhead dollar rates charged to current or future government contracts.

To clarify, when managers tell people to use 4 hrs of vacation on top of their 40 hours of work time, they do not expect the people to work projects during that time. The direction is to go home after 8 hrour of work but put an additional hour on your time sheet for that day. That way nothing is illegal. People are only charging the real time worked to projects. The extra hour of vacation each day is just makes the EEI metrics look good.

"Taking vac without actual taking vac . That a set up to terminate your job."

So who says you have to be there? Just don't be there for that 4 hours.

Re post from Ms. Captain Obvious - time charge training that I got in AZ pointed out that ALL charging had to be accurate since non-government proportions including overhead charges affect that actual dollar rate charged to the government. I'll defer to cost accounting specialist on this, but time charging audits out here, in real time, didn't care if you were charging to a government contract or not.

Used to work with CLW and Greer R&O out of PHX with government contracts....to the government it does NOT matter how many vacation hours you put on your time card, vacation doesn’t get billed to the govt directly. Greer R&O doesn’t have cost justifiable contracts, they are are under the commercial FAR....so these are all games to make the internal HON metrics look good to appease the VP’s.

Glad I’m outta that and into the HR function now.

My project touches a lot of sites and a number of techs have mentioned being told to use vacay. For me this is confirmed.

Wow, it seems that there are a lot of posts about Clearwater on this webpage, is site leadership that bad there?

I work Clearwater. I was told I need to make up sick time since it affects Yield metrics.

@xgo

This post may not be false. Technicians at R & O in Greer were told by a Tier 3 manager that it didn’t matter how many hours they were clocked to a USG WO as long as their Utilization numbers were good.

Well, you get "unlimited" vacation, right? DO IT!

not sure it's this site itself to get more clicks but I've noticed posts from another thread will get reposted as a new thread.

I sure hope that this isn't true. Not legal and easily caught on an audit after the fact.

yeah right, since time sheets are audited by the USG, I truly think you are simply spreading rumors. People on here may not like Honeywell, but they do things by the books and employees will be fired for submitting false time sheets...there is a zero tolerance policy for this. Rather than post that here, perhaps call the 800# or report it to HR...thats why I call BS on this post.
