NY dispatchers and adjusters are being whipped to the bone. The volume is out of control between the supps and regular inspections. NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE to do the work! Period!!
Exactly. You made my point. You probably have no idea how long those transitions took from first conversation to wrecking ball, but it doesn’t happen quickly. Yes, the land is very valuable, and developers would love to get their hands on it, but it won’t happen piecemeal. As far as options go, I wouldn’t count on large scale downtown migration. More likely Charlotte, Dallas, and a soon to be named west coast (no, not California) location.

Household office complex - demolished
Life building - empty for long time but allstate pays for heating, cooling and etc
Willow - 80% empty
Apcc - will be closed by 2019
Options
A - move remaining force to life building
B - willow
C - more space in downtown
D - remove bridge between south and north and keep portion.
Really ? So, they’ll heat, cool, maintain and pay taxes on that monstrosity while absorbing a duplicate cost somewhere else ? I do believe the Northbrook presence will be smaller down the road, with roles dispersed over several larger hubs, but don’t hold your breath.

Relocation package is offered in multiple areas. Three locations texas, arizona and n caroline. Package depends on your band.
The rest of what story ? Yes, company’s like Allstate will continue to build some offshore operations, where it makes sense. India and and Ireland are examples for Allstate, but for the most part are limited to technology and back office operations.

Do you even understand the financials (book value, stock price, outstanding shares) that would make a sale/acquisition attractive to anyone ? If Allstate were a target, it was when the stalk was trading in the $30’s, not over $100.

I don’t think it’s a secret that we’re building a bigger presence in a couple of large centers. I’m sure those will include current HO roles to support those centers. If your job goes there, go with it. There’s worse places to live.
Northbrook is being shopped for prop value wake up. pack your bags for Dallas or NC. This has been part of leaked strategic plan for 3+ years! or go on say I'm nuts. What color is your parachute Northbrook?
I’m doubting the “no Northbrook “ postings here, although it sounds like some business units will have a reduced presence there. Given real estate/tax costs relative to NC/Texas, can you argue with it or blame them ?
If they’re asking about mobility to North Carolina and/or Texas, I’d say that’s pretty transparent. Do you want them to draw you a picture ?
The property is at premium in Northbrook and mk secret operations move to Dallas and NC. Yoir "transparent upper mgt" won't share maybe insider trading stipulations but it will be closed in 5 years so HO mid managers what color is parachute. The hiring screen company for G sake is asking if willing to relocate to Dallas or NC for HO jobs. There is no transparency so look out for self and do your own research.

Yes, and in today’s business environment, you either better be mobile ( the company offers relocation assistance when jobs are moved), or be prepared to have your resume on the street.......and when you get to that next company, be prepared for them to make similar business decisions. If you like the company you work for, mobility is the answer to your angst over job security.

Or, listen to your managers in HO who say nothing is in works. People on this board need to research little more on strategic plan that is not shared with staff BUT with shareholders: northbrook is liability for square footage and moves will be to Dallas and NC. Ask HR u idiots what they ask ask in screening interview regarding relocation, I love the trust that workers have for exec who have stock options. WAKE UP
By next summer Allstate will start hiring a few adjusters back once they realize shops aren’t going to buy into virtual and they realize the amount of supplements QFC is creating plus the delays we are having in getting field adjusters out to address initial estimates and supps.
