Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Overnight shift that has moved to days.

Those who have made the change from nights to stocking during the day. How's it working out? What are the team lead and manager doing?

How are trucks going to be unloaded during the day. Our dock is so full you can barely turn a lift around. We get fresh trucks 6 days a week, 1 to 2 water trucks a night, 2- 3 Walmart trailers a night. GP and Procter and Gamble 3 - 5 times a week and over 100 pallets of soft drinks a week. It may happen but unless the freight slows down it wont stay that way long. When Walmart trailers cant get unloaded and the DC's don't have empty trailers then receiving will have no choice but to go back to nights.

I hope they do this at all clubs. Lots will not be able to change hours and 4am-12 is a great shift.

So the opening manager that is scheduled in at 6 has you come in at 4 to start the stocking for the day? Does that include a lead to come in and help out? I know At our club the opening manager it's normally late, including the CM. Interesting to see how that works. The opening manager takes like an hour just to do the steel walk and gas comp and drink their coffee.

Receiving happens during day shift hours. Stickers come in at 4 am and club closes at normal time. After the club closes down is when the pallets are dropped for morning which has them leaving at 11 pm. The fork lift drivers also still drop in the morning. It requires everyone to be on deck and work and anyone that does not work (including managers) stand out to club manager and co manager.

I do believe co managers will be elimated, along with Membership and Marketing Assistant Manager, and Asset Protection Manager.

How's it working out? Its not!!! Nothing is getting stocked, its right before Christmas and trying to stock empty shelves in a busy store and not be in anyone's way? Very difficult! Trucks are late, shortage of carts, none of our price checkers work and if you want a telzon, mc40 (don't even think about a tc70) or printer good luck finding one

PLaT7rX-9ltn. are you serious? i don’t care where they came from it’s all about money and that means making the board happy and richer. that’s who they answer to. sam’s / walmart is too far behind the eight ball. “ole school” means giving a dam about your employees and doing what’s right. neither of these two do. so do tell what your “ole school”means, eliminating thousands of jobs? no people to people contact, just technology and robots that dont work half the time. yes tell me about “ole school”. when your job goes away talk about what a great job they “did”.

Ummmm people did see it coming with audit. It was on this site months before it actually happened. So yeah it'll be seen soon. They started the testing in a couple locations, and have now expanded it to others. I have no doubt it will be everywhere soon enough.

The coming any seems to be going back to the ways we work many years ago when we first become successful. Gisel and Johnare ole school they use to work in clubs and at Walmart so they they know what it take every one needs to give them a change to work

I will believe it when I see it. Does not mean it is going to happen, as from the sounds of it it is, but way to much of people saying they are hearing this and hearing that. My two cents for what it is worth, look at what happened to audit, who saw that coming? See what I mean?

What would receiving hours be then?

That would be awesome if they got rid of gold key hours. That’s a joke anyway half of what comes in at 7 are not business members.

From what I understand so far there is several test clubs getting ready to go into effect. I believe the shift will be 2am-10:30 with the lift drivers coming in 2 hours early to do the drop lists for the club. As far as the night managers and their structure I do not know as of yet. I think they are going to do this and get rid of the gold key hours and have hours more similar to Costco.
