Any of these 1300 in Baden? Just read that German papers are reporting another 1300 layoffs in Baden/Birr
GE ANOUNCED 500+ LAYOFFS IN SCHENECTADY NY ITS ON THE WARN NOTICE LINK

345 in France is old news. See previous post
https://www.thelayoff.com/t/O7JnCxF
It was just leaked by the French earlier then GE wanted.
Along with Spain 135 and Switzerland 100. The bigger question is where the other 1300-345-135-100=720 jobs will come from.
345 of 800 employees at France, Grenoble site to be fired, France government involved to asking GE to stop...as GE promised to keep employment and even increase by 1000 net employees by november 2018 as part of Alstom deal. But it seems GE will just pay 50K EUR penalty term for non created employment for each 1000... GE is failing in EU too...
Think again. Andreitz is a has been, like Alstom was before the bailout from GE. And Voith is still Siemens by joint venture.
Repeating a recurring theme, while the Americans and the Europeans were arguing who is best, along comes Asia with it's eye on both their lunches:

the response by @PMDWGnj-1pkl is why hydro is in trouble.
Siemens and MHI are not competing with GE in the hydro space. Good god, pull your head out.
Andritz and Voith are the players.
MHI and Siemens are major players in hydro, just as with other types of powergen equipment. Then there are many small players in hydro for the smaller installations. The smaller ones are surging in popularity as the grid gradually gets more distributed among microgeneration assets, as the big ones stagnate in a saturated market.
@pjy I am in Digital - who are your biggest competitors on the Hydro side - just curious, if it's sensitive, no worries
Hydro business is pretty slow but there is still business... but with the level of service we provide this will be done by somebody else, competitors are already taking over, of course quite an easy catch
And still, no posts on https://www.thelayoff.com/alstom
you can see this board via this link as well:
That's a pretty light number.
Has this started already?
Are we surprised? Hydro is the worst group of the former Alstom employees...they can barely tie their shoes without crying about how hard life is.
