Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

So the BPQM Town Hall...

Sr Leadership fielded soft ball q's. They worked "vigorously" to "redeploy" people.. according to Bethany. She didn't address people. She stated that "the actions taken were for our constituents" and in regards to further layoffs..she wouldn't guarantee that either. Ownership is being pushed back to the business rather than BPQM/remediation. Facts given were : 17 quality programs were cut. Programs with no value were removed. No employee numbers regarding layoff's were shared. Nothing mentioned in regards to realignment etc.

They did not work to redeploy people. We were laid off with no warnings at all.

@PMNh4yu-2foe - There isn't an "opening" under Lori, shes a new leader.. moved from a previous leader. There is a new line she is handling. Your comments make no sense. You might want to visit the new org chart.

@PMNh4yu-2ump You're making a lot of assumptions. Can you specifically address the previous questions regarding new audit programs? OE doesn't truly affect the Provider or Service areas. If not, I'm going to go with fear mongering for a thousand, Alex.

An opening was added under Lauri because the person un that role was promoted.

BPQM is or was large. There was no actual role of team lead, but for those who worked directly with the previous supervisors understand what the role was called.

If you paid attention to the meeting with Brian when he announced he was leaving, it was mentioned that the goal to was move BPQM to automation with less audits and a concentration on certain audits only.

@PMNh4yu-2iky Based on the information from the town hall, new audit programs specifically focusing on the customer will be introduced. The 17 that were removed had no value add from the customer perspective. Where are you hearing that they are condensing and automating them? Which areas of BPQM? Provider? Benefit? Customer Service? Why would they add a new BL under Lori M if they were removing staff? None of the information in the new org chart or what was presented during the town hall supports what you are stating. Can you elaborate?

@PMNh4yu-1djd Since most areas have frozen job postings, it makes it difficult to leave BPQM.

Staff is needed until OE is completed. Then audit programs are being consolidated, condensed, and automated.

I was on that call yesterday and she absolutely danced around the questions. I do NOT feel safe simply because I survived this cut. I handle one of the smallest platforms for BPQM and actively looking. Something keeps telling me another cut is coming....

@ @PMNh4yu-1djd This is the exact opposite of what I've heard.

This isn't the end of layoffs. In Jan 2018, there will be more layoffs. If you are still in BPQM, I would suggest to look for a new job.

Quality will be cut more as the audit programs are condensed. Any team lead should be looking, as all roles are being taken away from team leads.

This is what happens when you let outsource your jobs to India. Uhg is planning to have a ratio of 1:3:6:120 meaning 1 director in us will have 3 middle managers that will again have 6 us workers who will basically manage or work @20 uhg offshore.

If they were an honorable company they'd announce some target reduction numbers and offer early retirement options.

Human capital is looking for further cuts. They say most will be through attrition but will have layoffs for the rest of this year
