OP most likely its someone starting rumors I always get customers saying that when are we closing? Or you guys are closing huh. I am like I don't think we are as of now we are still opened. The only ones that know are usually the upper corporate douche bags and going down the ladder finally the last ones to know the associates.
Eh, unless your store appears to be at risk, I'd take it with a grain of salt. Over a year ago I had some lady on the phone call and ask when liquidation starts. She claimed we were closing the following (last) March. Well, 7+ months later we're still there and getting in plenty of winter stuff.
Though I've had to tell people now and then all this year that no, so far our store is okay... Gets old. I'm sure they mean no harm, but they don't seem to consider that the understaffed and overworked employees don't need them putting additional worry about our jobs into our heads at work. As it is, that woman on the phone had me worrying for months. Ugh.
Ryg, I don't understand the animosity here. The op just asked a question. Every question is not a trick, or someone lying to you. To say someone is full of s**t just for asking a Question? Just rude and shows us who is really full of it.
It's the Sears locations in Canada that are closing for good just before xmas. Who knows about after xmas for the rest of us.
All stores are definitely closing on the evening of the 22nd. All will reopen on the morning of the 23rd.
