"Corporations like IBM know how much states want them and their jobs, he said. The corporations are experts at using that leverage to get a good deal."

Columbia situation:

Entice us to move to your town and IBM promises to hire 800 people.

Nowhere near the 800 mark and they start letting people go??

So not even fully ramped up and layoffs already. Wow, great job Ginni.

Glad to hear they took away all the incentives for IBM in Columbia.

Scam job

They can hire H1B visa types - remote work from Bangalore and be very happy with reduced salary and benefit expense at the same time. OR just assign everything to WATSON who can manage the world by what IBM says all of the time.

Mark my words: IBM will be unable to fill the 228 missing jobs in Louisiana by 2019. Somebody has been drinking a lot of Kool-Aid. IBM will take the money and run.

That's an amazing shortfall despite an explosion of guest workers sponsored by IBM who were designated to work in Baton Rouge and Monroe since the deal was announced. https://www.myvisajobs.com/H1B-Visa/Search.aspx?CI=54&WS=LA&O1=Employer&O2=Job_Title&Y=2015&WC=Baton%20Rouge
