I don't think it was a coincidence I took a survey about a week before my position was eliminated. This survey was sent to me in an email. I wasn't even going to fill it out but a couple of days later the new CEO sent another email asking again to please fill out the survey. I was fairly honest and I believe it was the kiss of death. I expressed that I was not proud of working for Weatherford. I always knew I was building my career on sand.

They did not replace my DM position. They promoted the Inventory Coordinator to Operations Supervisor. Or at least they told him they were going to promote him, eventually.
There is no anonymous any longer.
It's not from the survey. They are just going down and will continue to shed people. Also, it is not a RIF as they are moving someone into your old position just as they did me - thought is RIF sounds better than laid off, however if it is a true RIF the position goes away and they do not backfill.
Give it time and someone will go after them for how they word things when letting folks go.
Regardless, consider yourself lucky it's now and not with a flood of folks when this think is shuttered.

As a District Manager I was not allowed by my supervisor to do anything other than what he directed me to do. I could not hire anyone, fire anyone, promote anyone or give anyone a raise. I spent all my time making changes that he wanted. We came under forecast in September, which I had little to to no control of, and I'm the fall guy. Someone had to be held responsible right? But he's still there even though his position has been eliminated as well. Bye Weatherford. I had hoped we could turn it around. I wish all my remaining Weatherford coworkers good luck.
