Reduction of independent stores at AAP has begun

Has anyone heard about the new pricing to independent stores? Cost will be based solely on your quarterly volume and adjusted for the following period. Similar to the pricing program that the company stores use with their commercial customers. Looks like the reduction of independent stores has begun.

Anybody has any more info on this?

Watch what happens when delivery shifts from the CQ DC's to weekly. The independents vaporize and what remains of commercial business continues to decline. But then again...what better way to rid the organization of high maintenance-low volume independent CQ stores.

We are in the process of reviewing consolidations of CQ warehouses. This will be completed q1 and we will shift from nightly deliveries to weekly. This will reduce dc expenses and enable us to lower CQ fees and lower prices at p5.

Advance isn't worthy of having the CARQUEST business anyway! I hope all the independent jobbers switch so they will lose all of those sales. What a bunch of idiots running Advance. Can't wait to see 3rd quarter earnings and see what the stock does.

When the independent stores are gone they can get rid of a lot of dead weight in Raleigh and every DC,that will save a lot of money.

So,if you have a slow winter you'll pay higher prices in the spring? Sounds about right for this company. When we were still CQ the local Advance store was selling below my cost just to beat me.I just talked with a friend who is a GM at a former JV store that is dying, they have a load of winter goods that don.t show on hand so indy stores near by can't see it.
