Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Anything changed?

It seems to have got really quiet on here lately. My job ends Dec. 1st in Accounting. Are they still eliminating PTC, Membership Lead, Receiving and others? People are still waiting to be told here. Still have no idea what my plans are...

With the fact that since the company focus has been on fresh since the beginning of the year after a large push to use Salesforce in marketing with bad equipment, the writing is on the wall. We have made ourselves available for members to help there business needs on site if needed. The new wire not updating or bad links to get to our resources. Not sending promotional materials in time, cutting payroll making associates cover two areas daily. You cannot have a member waiting in a line. Forcing them to use their phone to use Scan-N-Go knowing it is costing jobs. First 5, is a joke be friendly how when you are over worked for the amount of hours you get, open availability, and under staffed. Get call outs daily and not to many willing to come in when they are on schedule. The morale and loyalty are gone. My club turned the marketing team around in the past two years, our members and businesses like us beginning available to answer concerns. Last six months I have worked two days a week in my position and the rest I have covered the desk and club pickup. Businesses want delivery, heard that might be a thing but that has been going around for years now. They are late to the game. Hy-Vee already does it. Costco let's non members shop on it's website with no up charge. Sam's Club is sinking and it is not because of the club level but GMs and upper management and HO.

Found out the severance package will be sent out two weeks before Dec 1st to the Accounting Leads at their home address. Make sure your address is current.

since they are just rumors, people will not be "told" here first... just saying, be real... rumors do not do any good, unless there are facts behind them, yes they are probably eliminating the positions mentioned by the OP... no body knows when, take a position that is safe, cashier, desk, fresh positions in bakery, meat, deli, stocking, etc.... ROBOT's are expensive!

I am a PTC. Please know that we have not been informed in any way about the severance packages . Each package is going to be for the individual. All we do is make sure the termination is done under the

correct termination code so you can get unemployment. We have been purposely left out of this. I wonder who will make sure the PTC's are

coded corrrctly when our time comes,

We have our new machine in our club. Its not even in the cash office. It is in the managers office where the GM used to sit.

no nothing here either. but seems too early. you could easily have not made a decision yet. you have 60 days to find a job in the company. i read on here that a packet would be sent to your address on file the last week before termination. there seems to be no number to call for info just check with your PTC. ours doesn’t know anything and has no interest in finding out. if most ptc have this attitude they need to go in january. might be different when there time is up.

Seems like no one knows anything. I have found a job and will stay on until December 1st to receive my severance working both jobs. My GM knows nothing has zero clue. No machine yet and no direction (the norm for this crap hole). Can not wait to be done. As for severance and all make sure you write a formal statement in email and send it to your GM. That way they have no way to screw you over come December 1st. An email is proof that you requested it.

Has anyone gotten the packet yet? One of our audit team said when their job was eliminated they got their packet fast. Does anyone know when for accounting? They also didn't have me sign anything.

From what I've been told the other changes will not happen until January. I too will be leaving December 1. We do not have our machine yet, but measurements have been taken and supplies have started arriving. I can't believe this is taking place going into the holidays, I'm sure it will be a total mess, but I need to stop worrying about it, because the higher ups don't seem to care.

I’m sure you will find out when pulled into the office if that is indeed what happens. Until then no one knows just a guess.
