LE has to keep up appearances to fool Wall Street into believing that oracle is an innovative company doing cooks stuff, that’s all this is about. Watch the tabling “oracle is taking the battle to Amazon’s backyard”. Total nonsense but hey give them credit for spending money to make belief

Why would some young engineer go and work for a company like Oracle? Their technology simply exist through Borg assimilation, in this case buy technology at a regular pace. Oracle has no innovation, never has never will. Then with their incompetent management that takes the assimilated technology and do nothing with it. How many companies have they assimilated and perhaps made some money, but overall; messed it up. Engineers don't waste your time unless paid a lot, then do your job and bail. Next round of young engineers will replace you for much less pay. Good luck...

Oracle architects and engineers are old school. They can't match the massive energy level of AWS engineering. I bet AWS will soon provide complete stack of SaaS similar to Salesforce and Workday. Oracle Cloud will be like MS-DOS in the next 5 years.

Kind of sad that our only real cloud strategy is to poach talent from the companies we are behind. While Amazon and even Microsoft are building the future, all we can do is try to copy what they have already done in the past.

It's so sad. Oracle is a copy-oriented culture. No new ideas of any kind. The upper level managers and marketing people were always saying what some other company had and maybe we should do that now.

Within engineering there were groups who spent all their time looking through other groups code to see what they could copy and say they wrote themselves. It's honestly not that difficult to write the actual code yourself. Then you don't have to lie about it.

Oracle is made of people who can't think for themselves, they try to stay safe by copying.... other companies, other groups. It's so sad.

Oracle is always then, too little and too late. Fusion apps was a poor response to applications like SAP, too little, too late. Cloud is too little, too late. By the time there is an Oracle cloud that functions, (if that actually ever happens), there will be some other boat that Oracle has missed.

If you can only copy the competitors, then you are never really part of the competition.

I guess LE is happy with sloppy seconds.

I will be an empty building with Oracle logo on top of it. It's the same strategy they are following with the cloud portfolio.........

Bayarea has become too expensive to live. So some oracle folks from HQ can move to Seattle.

Amazon is seeking HQ2 outside of Seattle where hiring becoming more difficult and expensive to live in that city. What's kind of common sense Oracle has to move in there ?

"The company said the move to the new space will happen over a two-year period."

Typical Oracle speed... slower than a turtle. Won't this be over by then (Oracle not the winner)?
