Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Layoffs compared to other companies.

Unlike Oracle, Intel is much more respectable and human when laying off. Oracle execs are inhuman and immoral. The company proved it does not care about the employees, treats them like trash.

"Intel has begun notifying workers in its finance group that their jobs will be eliminated early next year, according to multiple employees familiar with the plans. The chipmaker had warned staff last summer that these cuts were coming , part of a broader plan to bring down spending."

Many big companies make less money and still give months of advance notice to the employees before the layoff. Oracle can do better. Don't forget we made a lot of money for Oracle. That $10B annual profit is our hard works.

I have invested more than 15 years of my life with Oracle, working hard, adding value every day. I have seen many people at my department that should not even have a job flipping burgers, but I kept my hard work. Now, I got laidoff because my job has moved to India. Oracle's problem is these useless managers that are good for nothing. Employees are treated just like bodies, for sure not like human.

I agree with @PPmVX3J-jqa. I quit as soon as I saw all the layoffs. During my stay, I was rooting for Oracle just for the stock price (self-gain). As soon as that went down and the layoffs became borderline uncomfortable, I looked for a new job.

Avoid getting attached to the company; makes it easier to look at something with a clear mind. There are way too many companies to jump around.

When you trade your people as a business property then you should expect all your people will trade you as business property as well. Nothing wrong but what is your future? Cutting buddies arms legs won't help on your future.

FYI, I wasn't laid off. Just witnessed the layoffs. I've seen layoffs in other companies when I worked there. Yes I agree it is just business; I am just against the way Oracle conducts the layoffs and their hypocrisy.

Employees performance and focus is decreased once the employee knows it being let go.

Majority of posters on this site are bitter, envious, and hateful towards oracle. Because oracle is “immoral” the way they fired you. There is no nice way to fire someone, plain and simple. Business is Business, cut out all of these personal feelings.

Be grateful for what Oracle has provided to you.

Interesting and not surprising.

Oracle directors treat their employees like they are their personal slaves. Very little information is given to employees, even on company direction.
