Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Would the next layoffs be on Dec 1st?

Was wondering if the next big layoffs might come on Dec 1st, since there were layoffs on June 1st, then September 1st, 3 months apart. 3 months from September would be Dec 1st?

Some posts awhile back were suggesting that there were limits to the number of layoffs in a 90 day period to avoid WARN notices. So, I thought that might be a possibility.

Gotta feel sorry for the customers who are targeted for Q2 closure, the amount of threats and abuses they will receive from ORCL to get the deals across the finish line. Partners will undoubtly feel the brunt of the heat as well, many forced to take low margin risky deals by reps with empty promises of payback from other deals in the future.

Just question of how poor the financial performance for the quartet is and thus how much expense oracle needs to shift from the p&l to the restructuring reserve. This is all about manipulating the financial and investors’ perceptions of oracle to support the share price.

Thise dates are the start of Oracle's fiscal quarters, so it probably has more to do with when they want to convert ongoing payroll expenses into one-time “restructuring” expenses for the quarterly reports to Wall Street.

They don't necessarily space it out at 3 months, but they work with HR to figure out whether they're going to trigger WARN and tweak the numbers and locations based on that. They do everything possible to avoid triggering WARN.

Are you suggesting a group of 60 people don't need 3 VP's a 4 directors to lead them? Who will micro-manage?

Layoffs will be every Q going forward, some VPs do it all in one lump sum and some do it every month or so. You just need to play the waiting game, no stress at all.

If you ask me, 80% to 90% of management needs to go. We have way to many sr. directors and VPs in every group.
