Just a friendly warning, if you have an issue with somebody who is above you at Honeywell, do not take it to the HR. Instead of a resolution you hoped for, chances are you will end up being the one written up. I've learned that the hard way this month, and I have no plans of repeating that mistake. I am, however, looking for a new job as we speak.

What hr.greer Honeywell has never had a hr and if we did they would not know what to do.this plant is sinking fast without anyone to help it . It's gone?
HR=Honeywell represenative
HR, some good some bad, depends on where you work. But like all things Hon, they try to reduce them too, so you get new or young, untrained, typically 3rd party people , maybe in another state working from home, assigned to help you. My situation was someone who could only tell me what number to call and didn’t have any answers, another person who was more senior told me they didn’t have a procedure for what I was asking. Probably the same at a lot of companies. Sign of the times, workers more on their own and less loyalty. I got better job outside Hon and collecting early pension now. Gotta be willing to change
Also have had mixed experiences with HR, mostly bad. Most are terrible but there are rare exceptions, there was a good one at Tempe that was great in helping me but he left a few months back. When he was leaving he told me that employees forget that HR are employees too and just do what upper management forces them to do. Like in almost all cases, the issue most times isnt the person you interact with, HR or whatever department, but its Senior/Upper management that has their heads up their butts and are disconnected from those of us with feet on the ground. Im guilty too, I complain about HR, lack of responsiveness, company centered, etc too but then run across a decent one that gives a glimmer of hope....then they get run over by Honeyhell and leave. Dont get me wrong, not supporting or defending HR, just sharing my opinon that they are not all bad, there are a few good ones if you are lucky.
Actually, @PPtWaic-1nbs, HR did in fact used to stand for "Human Relations". Additionally, in the 1980's when I was hired in, and well into the '90's, HR did a very good job reigning in some pretty oafish bosses.
Not so, these days.
A Director told me (after he retired) that as far as he could see, HR's only function was to fire or otherwise dispatch employees. I too have been through the HR meat grinder. They will use anything you say or do to eliminate you. It's best if you never speak to HR about ANYTHING. I really consider them as the Gastopo.
HR has 2 answers to any questions you may ask. The 1st is I don't know and the 2nd is I'll try and find out but give me some time. While you are waiting they move on to another job. As someone stated earlier, they are WORTHLESS and are only here to protect management. Call the ethics hotline if you want action. Then they have to deal with your beef.
"Human Resources". But, we get your point.
-vww, this does not apply to every company that's out there, but it is rampant in corporations. If you're looking for a real HR Dept (remember that "HR" stands for "Human Relations"), you have to go with smaller companies. The real HR people are there for the employees. Corp HR are there solely for the company (they should be called "CR" for "Corporate Relations").
I was told by a wise old sage that the purpose of HR dept is to prevent liability #Lawsuits #ProtectTheCorporation
They are puppets of upper mgmt
I would agree. Honeywell HR totally backs Mgmt and are totally worthless. They are the types who would chop your arm off and not have the common decency to pick it up and hand it back to you. I know this from experience. They completely condone the 10% turnover rate and harassing and abusing selected employees to make them quit, particularly the older ones. It's pathetic. I have no respect for HR and don't trust Mgmt.
She was only helpful because it had to do with kicking someone out the door. Her and the others in Clearwater are very non responsive when it comes to helping an employee. You have to send about four emails to get their attention.
I love my HR rep at Clearwater. She is always so happy and helpful. Clearwater has the best HR in Honeywell.
Everything I needed to justify a layoff, she was there for me to help me out with the paperwork. She is the best. Thanks M.
If you think HR is on your side, think ab out who pays them and where their loyalties might lie. Face it, at work it's every man for himself and you have to look out for #1 because no one else is.
Haha yeah everyone knows HR is there for the company not the employee. Never trust HR. Just for the record, I also learned the hard way.
This applies to every company out there unless it's your own. Thanks for the tip captain hindsight.
this isn't news to anybody who dealt with them before...
