AZFSM driving out high grade level employees

AZFSM is slowly replacing Grade 56 and Grade 57 technicians with contractors and Grade 54 techs. The policy on human errors has changed to have a 'zero tolerance' category, which means MTs get permanent written warnings for 'not following spec' even if it's their first screw up. This largely targets tech specialists (G56/57) who are the ones performing risky non-standard troubleshooting and recovery procedures on machines. My group has 12 techs and half are already on PWW.

AZFSM is also chasing out Grade 8 and Grade 9 managers and engineers. Several area managers, module team leader, and staff level eng have been gone after at mid year reviews for ambiguous things that no one could have anticipated. In my department, 4 out of 7 MTLs have been in their position less than 2 yrs, due to high turnover. Last year we had 9 - 1 was forced to retire in the ACT, 3 were targeted and fled the group, and 1 was re-classed to eng when her group combined with another group. AMs have also been turning over every 1-2 years.

There is no place to 'move up' to. Moving up is a path out the door.

The two sociopaths at the head of TMG are responsible for that culture of burning out, punishing, and discarding. A grade 56/7 is generally very overpaid for the work and responsibility these days, and it's not like Intel is beating the door down with new products and growth. They are a cyclical business and the next downturn is coming in '18. As far as the middle managers, they are not given the resources to be successful when the problem is the process...lots of CE! bureaucracy and months of delay for key toolset improvements that they could put to bed with $20 million which they make in one shift in one factory. They spend more on solar carports.

G57 are all slackers, and should all get lvl 5 stock. I havent seen many G57's that meet expectations for that level and are any better than a G55 . G57 are on notice if you don't meet expectations.

You own your own training brah.. don't wait for your CoHE to go expired slacker. Expired safety classes means you either get decert or documented coaching. Try harder or vanish...

Until they cut some significant grade 12s and up I don't feel a bit sorry for "intel" and it's money problems

azfsm already has too many heads and too many span levels. It's no brainer... cut head and span will produce significant saving. Root problem is the managers either falsely shore up the need for more head counts when it's not require or bloated a simple task as a fake complex tasks...

Intel is top heavy company if they want to save money, start by cutting the 300 VP's. Does Intel really need 300 of them?

GPTW indeed; especially if they target the dedicated employee's who have continued to stay with Intel and not jump ship even if some say it is sinking; and the over 50 crowd.

Once upon a time, when the annually COHE was due, one could take the class and it would suffice. Now, you cannot because they are using that to weed people when it goes overdue or if one fails the audit. There are plenty of AM's, GL's, and other deadweight at AZFSM that they should target instead of the worker bees.
