Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Job Postings

So what's the deal with all of the job postings? I click on the Open Positions on the lower right hand side of the internal page and have emailed the hiring managers and have not heard anything. I've probably applied to 20+ open positions and I've not heard a damn thing about anyone of them. Are they bogus or fake to make it look like Oracle is always hiring?

So I keep seeing a Principal TSE position being advertised for the Solaris Os group in Burlington MA. Real or fake? Guess it’s an ATS system burp.

I was HM before at Oracle. What I can say from my perspective is that my job postings we're left hanging out for ever. The recruiting department is incredibly understaffed and under managed to be of any value, and the tool is incredibly broken and stupid as it's based on Oracle EBS. So, even my postings were out there for months after I filled the position. Overall, just focus on postings not older than 2-3 months at Max.

These are not for H1, Per JD no visa sponsership.

It’s all fake postings and asking for AWS and AZure certs. In fact oracle laid off ECAs.

Those mostly for H1B Visa applications. Even you landed an interview, they will find a way to disqualify you. It is quite unlikely you have an exact experience as the job description states. However, you should avoid working Oracle or IBM .. you would not be happy.

Most of those are so we can claim we tried to hire a local before getting a labor visa for an Indian, who is probably already working for us anyway.

you need to know someone in Oracle management to be sponsored into the position or you need to be recruited via their internal college recruit system.

"start working with ADF, which must be over 20 years old by now, to work in the 'cloud'."

"So many people apply and many aren't even able to do the minimum requirements posted."

Could be that, it would overload the system. I know someone who survived a layoff. She applied for another internal job and they didn't get back to her until 2 months had passed. YMMV.

Bigger question is why would you want to work at this place?????

Yes, this is the question. If you are already in Oracle and are looking to move somewhere else, you really should know better by now.

If you are outside Oracle, you should consider yourself lucky. You should go find a real job that you will enjoy with good people to work with.

I was at Oracle for 10 years. Worst choice I have ever made. Complete waste of time working on old tech with insane narcissistic management. I had an opportunity to start working with ADF, which must be over 20 years old by now, to work in the "cloud". I passed on that.

You don't want to work at Oracle. Almost anywhere is better than Oracle.

Hardly the massive conspiracy you think it is --- Oracle has had a running total of global open req's > 11K for a long time. The internal job site will post them for a few days and pull them.

So many people apply and many aren't even able to do the minimum requirements posted. Some managers haven't pulled filled req's for years and some are already filled but not "fake". IC2 or 3 level jobs get hundreds (in my org) of responses from entry level people or experience that has nothing to do with the post. Others leave the posting in order to maintain their budget for headcount and dont' plan to hire immediately.

Then there's the headcount freezes that stop all hiring in process due to revenue or change in strategy or some other BS.

Bigger question is why would you want to work at this place?????

Most company job postings nowadays are just to fulfill DOL requirements for labor certification. Even if they call you for interview, you are unlikely getting a job as someone is already had the job.

Yup, many companies are posting fake job openings these days.

We're in a stealth recession that the government and corporations are absolutely desperate to hide, and they need happy slappy stories about how many jobs are available so companies post fake job openings, which are picked up by stats agencies and reported as real job openings.

Yes, they're that desperate.
