Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

quit Intel earlier this year

I was an engineer at TMG. One of those that go to work do whatever is needed (even if it takes 12 hrs a day or more) and go home without looking at politics or care if my fellow earns a few bucks more or less than me.

I saw many good people leaving during ACT. That maid me think about the company, and how happy was working there. Somehow I applied for a couple of places thinking that all companies should look similar. During the interviews though, something was strange. It seemed that interviewers were treating me strange, I would say like a human being. Like asking what I did over the weekend, how old are my kids...strange questions indeed. I took one of the offers earlier this year. The strange event kept happening, they welcomed me with cookies and baloons in my office, each person presented himsellf on the meetings, I was even doing enginering development work. Maybe I was/am lucky. Who knows? Certainly there are other places, mainly these days where to work.

Enjoy your carreer!

Obviously you've been with Intel too long; however, I think you are one of the lucky folks, at least you probably had "enjoyed' working at TMG, although worked hard, but not like these days... where so many rumors of layoffs and stuff keep flying around, while beaten by the managers like a hell...

Now you're truly became a "Human." B^)

That's a good one. Most Intel managers are groom to be a cross between a pitbull and an automaton. Their humanity is reserved exclusively for their superiors.

12 hours plus a day at TMG with never endless excursions and recovery to manage, and most get 2-3% raise

You think TMG can compete with TSMC, Samsung what a joke, they got more resources and huge scale compared to TMG these days.
