Rumors in the halls here is a Huge layoffs coming to Oregon soon. Also general staff reductions coming to Santa Clara and Austin.
This is all part of improving Efficiencies and nimbleness of the company .

unfortunately, layoffs are just a reality of our time. i hope we don't have to ride this roller coaster again, but i'm getting ready just in case.

He never claimed to be in OR @-gkt. He merely said rumors here (which could be anywhere in the world, actually) are that layoffs are coming to Oregon. Maybe he has a team in Oregon, or maybe they are talking about other sites that they've heard rumors about. You don't HAVE TO be at a particular site in order to hear rumors about them.
