Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Trying to save on severance?

It crossed my mind this morning that the reason why Humana higher-ups are so slow in announcing the next round of layoffs we all know is coming is because they are trying to see how many people they can cut without severance, mainly through firings due to bad performance and people quitting on their own under pressure. I have seen both things happen in the last week (the performance firing was pure crap, I hope the person sues them). Are they trying to wait us out?

They aren’t “waiting people out”. You have to elevate your thinking about this. These actions have big impacts on earnings and financial projections and messaging to shareholders. They are needing to finalize the impact of early retirement and other financial projections. Believe me, our senior team is doing way more sophisticated things than playing chicken with associates.

Anyone on a PIP will be gone, and PIPs can be for anything, not just performance.
