Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Walmart free!!

Last year I was one of the invoice associates (another of the "useless people") that was given a choice and it was the hardest choice I've ever had to make; take a job that would pay me less and be on my feet 8 hours a day (nearly impossible after having a sit down job for 15 years) or leave the company and start over (another HUGE feat after 30+ years at the same store and company). I chose to leave and now 362 days later I'm glad I did. I won't lie to you, it hasn't been easy. I've had to do some major budget revisions (bye cable tv) cut back on my shopping (bye shoes) and eat out less. But I got to spend Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve AND Christmas Day with my family for the first time in several years. My best advice to anyone who thinks their job might be on the line, start cutting your expenses now. If you get a severance, it won't last as long as you think! One way to think about it, if you normally walk out of the store after purchasing something everyday like I did, you will be saving money. And yes, I still do some shopping at Wal-mart, but if I dont get a discount on it, I go elsewhere.

Holy crap I would mot have believed my post would create such a crap storm. I just wanted other associates to know that as daunting as it seems, it IS possible to move on from Wal-mart. For 30+years everything I did depended on what was happening at work. Scheduling vacation around holidays or events like BTS or inventory. Take it or leave it, I am glad to be out and I feel bad for the associates that are going through this.

It sounds like to me from what I’m reading,

you’re out of control. Maybe you need some serious help. Do you have some erratic behavior.

It sounds like quite a few of the customers I’ve had to deal with over the years.

You went from calling me a troll to wanting physical violence you are not classy by any means.

WOW. This topic went off the rails didn’t it?

Can’t a person (not the original OP) post a topic without backlash?

Looking through all these responses after the original post; why the hostility for the OP’s comment? Someone had mentioned if you don’t like the post, stop reading it, and move on. Sounds like a legitimate idea. I read through many posts on this site without feeling the need to be a jerk or firing off some kind of mean spirited post.

We should be helping one another and sharing any and all information we as the OP feels may be in insight or help to others.

Can’t we all just get along. LOL

Wow, you seem to be upset!

Lol

I left the company on good terms I didn’t get fired or laid off it was my decision. I took control of my own life my own decisions.

Why don’t you take your pro- Walmart and go back to Bentonville where you belong.

I’m so scared and petrified of you.

Maybe, I just hit a nerve and you can’t handle it.

Have class? F’n awesome of you to say. When your so called class spouts off BS remarks like that.

And you can stick that internet Psychiatrist up your hole.

If you need help - God please by all means reach out. Have something to share - maybe for others besides your self loathing rants.

What a typical jerk-off

What are you an Internet psychiatrist? I made one comment and you act like you’re the only one that deserves to be on this site who do you think you are? You should bring it down just a bit. I don’t owe you a reason why I’m on this site.

There are a lot of people on here that don’t work for the company anymore. You’re in dire need of attention.

Yes, people on this site are looking for layoff news that is relevant to their lives and paychecks. If I leave I will go to a new employer’s page on this site, obviously not the Walmart page . If you are not employed at Walmart, yet still frequent this Walmart site, why can’t you let go? Are you like an abuse victim so emotionally scarred that you leave Walmart and year later still comment on this layoff site for current employees?

I realize people at Home Office lost their jobs. I know quite a few people that worked there.

I just decided it was enough for me. Just because someone has a different view doesn’t mean they are a troll and does it mean you should call people names, be an adult about this it’s a place where people express their own views about the subjects here. Maybe, there is a lot of people that use this place to get it out and move on, I’m just trying to put that in perspective for you. I didn’t know that this place only belong to you .

Not everyone at home office is an a-hole. Most of us are waiting for the other shoe to drop as well. Lots of people at home office have lost their jobs as well. Just trying to put that in perspective for you.

If you don’t like what I write don’t read it. Don’t call people trolls because you don’t like what someone writes. Have class.

I’m temporarily retired until next year. Doing some traveling.

You’re a curious one, to question why I’m on this site are you the “internet police?” I found this site interesting that’s why I made a comment.

If you are on the “inside” are you scared of losing your job? Is that why you are here? Maybe you work for Home Office or you’re in so called management.

@dlv, thanks for your comment, I'm going thru a similar situation ( have not been cut yet, but probably will soon) and I am trying to figure out what my decision will be. Because lets be realistic, these rumors come from someone and to my experience most of them have already happened so I do believe what I read here and appreciate that I have time to plan, (audit team did not have that heads up) : (

@dlv - perhaps to give a person that needs it a small lift and a little knowledge and the hereafter of Walmart. Why are you trolling the site? To offer up stupid a-- responses and questions like that one I suppose.

I used that company like it used me.

I have a killer resume. Never ending list of high profiled references. Left after 17 years. There is life outside of that bipolar, schizophrenic, confused non

decision-making company.
