Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

'Love & Betrayal' - now playing at The Berm

I loved you, Nike. I had a few flings before. And then I met you. Is it possible to fall in love with a company? The brand magic. The swagger of success. Shooting the breeze with our gang in Café 19, watching the sun set over Jerry Rice. Time rendered meaningless because I never looked at my watch when I was in love. You looked deep in my eyes and called me Highly Successful. You got down on bended knee and gave me a team Maxim award for doing the right thing. I just couldn't get enough of you, and gave you my best 14 years. Why did it have to end this way, Nike? A conference room, a box of tissues, your HR proxies telling me it's over. Watching me pick up pieces of my broken heart and walk through the back door in case your other lovers see the tears and start thinking. One day, Nike, when you're old and need some consumer TLC, think of when our love was young, and you had someone who could have helped. Someone who cared.

You're probably going to eat these words once the full truth becomes known. Top level execs with decades of experience are rarely purged if there isn't a compelling reason.

I went across town to the stripes. They don’t need to buy us breakfast to come to work here.

@PWxS6TD: there is a touch of the poet in you. Sadly, your verse falls on deaf ears, your love unrequited.

@PWxS6TD-mgw: don't forget who controls the information the public sees. Nike is a liberal darling and is treated exceptionally well by the msm. Look how little reporting there has been on Nike's involvement in the FIFA, NCAA basketball and other scandals. What? Didn't know Nike was in it up to their corrupt little ears? Exactly...

Need not worry about this getting out... There are a lot of people talking and a lot of people listening... companies never regain there glory once they go down this road. People will still work for Nike, like they work for Microsoft, IBM, Monsanto, Government and the like. For the $$$ and that's it.

Age and tenure is why many were and continue to be forced out. It's to bad.

Will it be revealed to the public?
